Coats for Kids
The Coats 4 Kids Program is a collaborative effort of ROE 30, ROE 20, and ROE 21 to provide clothing for students in need living in 18 counties in southern Illinois, including Alexander, Jackson, Perry, Pulaski, and Union Counties. The Egyptian Building Trades is the primary funding organization. The main fundraising event, Coats 4 Kids Golf Scramble, is held every year in June.
The paperwork and funding for Alexander, Jackson, Perry, Pulaski and Union Counties are distributed through the Regional Office of Education 30. The following steps outline the process for accessing these funds:
Teachers or social workers are asked to identify students in need and to complete authorization forms.
School officials send authorization forms to the ROE to be completed with the Regional Superintendent's signature and ROE seal.
Authorization form is sent back to school with approval to shop.
After shopping, school officials send authorization form and receipt to ROE office for reimbursement. Or...
School officials can bring the completed authorization form to a predetermined location and time.
Regional Superintendent will sign and place the ROE seal on the authorization form.
School Officials will shop and ROE will purchase the items.
The Coats 4 Kids Program is an outstanding example of the community agencies and school districts working together for the betterment of our students in southern Illinois.
Thank you to the Egyptian Building Trades for their support!
